SGB UX
Project Overview
SGB is a Speakers Bureau where Speakers can Sign up and have profiles that showcase their biographies and the topics they cover. It’s also where Event planners can come and search for and hire speakers for their events.
I was tasked with designing 3 proposal pages – the Homepage, the Speakers Listings page and the Speakers page.
Approach
Understanding the business objectives: The client wanted the site to be like a trendy corporate social network where Speakers can be discovered and hired by Event planners.

Page Objectives
Homepage:

The homepage was aimed at the following:
– Presenting SBG as credible by showcasing images of very established Speakers within the team.
– Enable Users to Sign up for an account or Sign in to an account.
– Enable Event planners to easily search for Speakers by Names, topics or event locations.
– Feature a variety of topics that the Speakers cover.

Speaker Listings page:

The Speaker Listings page was aimed at the following:
– Enabling Event planners to get a preview of different Speakers, read their biographies and know their titles.
– Enable Event planners to view a Speakers full profile.
– Enable Event planners to send a direct message to Speakers.

Speaker page:

The Speaker page was aimed at the following:
– Showing a Speakers full profile with imagery and text.
– Enable Event planners to check on a Speakers availability.

User Interview
The questions were centered around the following topics : -
-
Booking speakers online.
-
Planning events.
-
Audience engagement.
-
Big and small speakers.
-
Budgets and time.

User Persona

Affinity Mapping
This stage of the project was crucial in identifying recurring issues and patterns.

Defining the Problem
Event planners need an easier option booking speakers online. This option should enable them to receive curated recommendations based on their specifications and also be able to check the availability of a speaker before booking.

Solving the Problem

To create a website that allows event planners to book speakers in an easier fashion by providing features that are intuitive such as : checking the availability of a speaker and offering them suggestions based on their specifications.
Researching the Market

It was important that I take the time to research competitor websites and benchmark for quality. I discovered that most of them have a corporate look and my client wanted something trendy and unique therefore I was inspired to design a website that will stand out creatively.

User Flow

Low Fidelity Wireframes
This stage was important in creating visual guidelines that would guide the final product.

High Fidelity Wireframes + User Testing
At this stage, I developed the low fidelity mockups to high fidelity visuals which were more detailed and vibrant. The User feedback I received is that the design looks nice and the interface is simple and easy to use.
